| Koloon Bastak impressed me from the very beginning. Not only because it is less than 1 hour from Tehran, but also because it offers variety of ski opportunities of various difficulties. Personally I like mostly the "yellow" one, the ramp 1 meter wide which crosses the face from left to right. The "green" one is the ridge which you climb up to reach the summit. In good conditions it offers exposed skiing on the edge of SE and SW face. The "red" we skied down in terrible conditions and we were exposed to 3 avalanches. The angle varies between 35 and 45degrees. The mountain is just 1 hour of driving from Tehran and easy to reach even from ski resort Dizin. I was there alone and also with friends from Slovakia - Michal Honko, Martin Ondreáš, Rasťo Hatiar, Robo Karkusz, Juraj Hýroš and Miro Chalupka.   |
